WHAT PAINT DO WE USE WHEN PAINTING BRICK?
Here at Yeras Painting we take pride in providing our clients with the best quality work possible and that starts with the paint itself. Our favorite paint thus far to use on brick is called Loxon XP and is made by Sherwin Williams, there are many other options out there to choose from but this paint is our favorite up to date. We use the same brand of primer called Loxon Primer also made by Sherwin Williams when applying our primer coat. Before we apply our coat of primer we make sure the brick is as clean as possible to provide the best durability possible, we then use a paint sprayer to distribute the primer coat first followed by the back rolled technique which is ( someone rolling the surface with a roller following the sprayer guy ) this technique is used to get a more uniformed and even finish without and spray marks. And then we follow the same process when applying our 2 final coats of the Loxon XP topcoat.
WHY IS LOXON XP GOOD?
Loxon XP is designed specifically for Concrete and Masonry surfaces since its a Waterproofing Masonry Coating designed to have better coverage ( lasting longer and covering better ) also is resistant to all kinds of weather like heavy rain, snow, thunders, etc. Also is mildew resistant which means it can be cleaned a lot easier and with less effort. And being an elastic paint means it expands and shrink during different weather seasons to not crack or damage the painted brick also allowing it to breath and not attract moisture inside.
WHAT’S THE EXPECTED DURABILITY OF THIS PAINT?
From our experience it can last anywhere from 10-20 years depending on how well people maintain it and the process in which it was done. This product is great and that's why we take so much pride in using it.
